Firmware Update Process
The firmware of the Epson Stylus Pro 7800 printer is stored on the Flash ROM on the Main Board. If the Main Board is replaced or if firmware updates are required, follow the steps below to write the firmware on the Flash ROM: Turn off both the printer and computer and connect them with a USB cable., Turn on the computer first and then the printer., Start the Firmware Update Tool on your computer., Choose the port and firmware file (UPG format)., Click on the SEND button to transfer the firmware data., Once the transfer is complete, a COMPLETE popup window will appear. Click OK.,7. The printer will automatically reboot after the firmware is written.
Initializing Ink Charge
If the printer is turned on for the first time after uploading firmware on a new Main Board without any parameters, the printer will perform an initial ink charge. If the initial ink charge is not necessary, make sure to clear the flag for Initial Ink Charge Flag ON / OFF.

There are 3 data files required for the firmware update:, MP_SN020AIPL, MPa_SN020AUPG, MP_SN020A1_q.UPGYou must have the Firmware Update Tool to work with these files.
