Updating Main Board Firmware
The firmware for the Epson Stylus Pro 7880 is stored on the Main Board’s Flash ROM. If you need to replace the Main Board or update the firmware, follow these steps: Turn off both the printer and computer, then connect them using a USB cable., Power on the computer first, followed by the printer., Launch the Firmware Update Tool., Choose the port and firmware file in UPG format., Click on the SEND button to transfer the firmware data., Once the transfer is complete, a COMPLETE popup window will appear. Click OK.,7. The printer will automatically reboot after the firmware is written.
Initial Ink Charge
When turning on the printer for the first time after uploading firmware to a new Main Board without parameters, an initial ink charge will be performed automatically. If the initial ink charge is not needed, be sure to clear the Initial Ink Charge Flag ON/OFF flag.
