Overview
The firmware of the printer is stored in the Flash ROM on the Main Board. When the Main Board is replaced or when firmware updates are required, the firmware needs to be written on the Flash ROM following a specific procedure.
System Requirements
Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP (32bit), Other systems running in compatibility mode
Update Procedure
Turn off both the printer and computer and connect them with a USB cable., Turn on the computer first, then the printer., Start the Firmware Update Tool., Select the port and firmware file (UPG format)., Click the SEND button to transfer the firmware data., Once the transfer is complete, a COMPLETE popup window will appear. Click OK.,7. The printer will automatically reboot when the firmware writing is complete.
Additional Information
If the printer is turned on for the first time after uploading the firmware to a new Main Board without any parameters, the printer will perform an initial ink charge automatically., You may need to clear the flag Initial Ink Charge Flag ON/OFF if the initial ink charge is not necessary.
